RADAR: RADHATRI NETHRALAYA DIABETIC RETINOPATHY PROJECT IN ASSOCIATION WITH ROTARY

Radhatri Nethralaya launched the eighth consecutive annual Project RADAR at its premises on 9/11/2021. The launch was by the Rotary District Governor DG.Rtn.Sridhar. He also released pamphlets on diabetic retinopathy to be distributed in busy junctions to improve awareness amongst the public. Rtn.Dr.M.S.RaviVarma, Rotary district health chair was the guest of honor. The project was graced by Rtn.Ramakrishnan Mani, president Rotary club of Chennai towers and other distinguished Rotarians. The distribution of pamphlets and the project would be under the aegis of Gurupriya Vision Research Foundation, the Public Charitable Trust of Radhatri Nethralaya

Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Praveen Krishna, Medical Director Radhatri Nethralaya said that Project RADAR was Radhatri Nethralaya Diabetic Retinopathy Project in Association with Rotary and it was a month long free screening of deserving diabetic patients for diabetic eye disease at Radhatri Nethralaya.

Dr.Vasumathy Vedantham, Medical Director of Radhatri Nethralaya gave a talk on the treatment of diabetic Retinopathy and said that India was fast becoming the diabetic capital of the world and camps such as project RADAR were the need of the hour.

A press release was given by GVRF trustees to improve public awareness that, diabetic patients interested in getting themselves checked under Project RADAR could call 9445438681 and register themselves for a free Retina checkup to rule out Diabetic Retinopathy till November 9th 2021.
